Membership Anyone interested in the art of quilt making is welcome to join Capital Quilters. We were formed in 1981 by 27 women in Bismarck, North Dakota to educate, sponsor and cultivate interest in the appreciation of quilting. Fellowship and the exchange of ideas is important to us and we have grown to about 100 members. The guild meets the first Saturday of each month, with the exception of July. Capital Quiltfest (see below) takes up our November meeting date as well. A class, free to members, starts at 9:30 a.m. The class may be a lesson on a single block (a great way to learn some basics and finish a sampler top), a technique such as Stained Glass, or a specific project, such as a seasonal wall hanging. The business meeting begins at 1:00 p.m., followed by "Show and Share". Both the class and business meeting are held at Marillac Manor (1016 N. 28th Street, Bismarck) in the lower-level conference room. Capital Quilters fiscal year runs from June 1 to May 31. Our dues are $15.00.
